Philonymous is the short form of Philosophers Anonymous, the playfully titled student group that started at the University of Rhode Island in 2005. Soon after it formed, the organization transitioned from an on campus student group focused on homework to an off campus group of friends focused on maintaining academic rigor after graduation.

Somewhere along the line, a Wiki was started and gathered a lot of thoughtful content – not just oversimplified, inflammatory ad hominem arguments, but actual content! Sadly that wiki was lost. Now I’ve taken it upon myself to provide a new platform for academic publication and discussion.
